What's On

Find out what's on at the Observatory Science Centre for 2019. We're offering a packed programme, with some new things on offer this year!

Star Search Courses

£76.00 per Adult

A fantastic opportunity to learn how to navigate your way around the night sky using the constellations as your guide. Taught in one of our domes under the backdrop of a historic telescope and outside under the stars, you will learn how to recognise star patterns and find out more about the mythologies behind them.

Telescope Clinic for adults

£55.00 per Adult

The course is a mix of classroom based teaching in one of the domes and practical hands-on teaching outdoors so you can learn how to use your telescope. Members of East Sussex Astronomical Society will guide you through setting up your telescope and getting the best out of it. Weather permitting they will also start you on your way to viewing the night sky.

Night Sky Photography

£55.00 per Adult

24th March. This course will be teaching practical aspects of night sky photography through lectures and demonstrations. You do not need to bring cameras, tripods or telescopes just listen and learn and take away all the essential information you will need to start you on your fascinating journey into night sky photography. British Science Week Activity Weekend

16th-17th March. To celebrate the end of British Science Week, we are holding an Activity Weekend. There will be lots of extra activities and this year we are focusing on Albert Einstein. It was 100 years ago when one of our telescopes helped to support his General Theory of Relativity. Come and find out all about it. No extra cost to normal admission.

Adult only Open Evening

30th March. Just occasionally we like to reserve an Open Evening for adults only and this is the date for this year. The indoor hands-on exhibits will still be available so you can explore to your hearts content!
