Holiday fun for children aged 6-8 years and 9-11 years. In addition to our daily activities, during the local school holidays we also offer fantastic workshops for children which are a great way to have fun and learn at the same time. They are fully interactive; children are totally immersed in carrying out experiments or making and creating (depending on the type of workshop). Many of the workshops involve an element of 'Make and Take' projects when the children are able to take what they have made home.
Specific workshops are aimed at age groups 6-8 years and 9-11 years. Please check the intended age group of your chosen workshop. We cannot accept children who are younger than the intended age and we would be very grateful if you respect this policy.
The workshops are intended for children only and we encourage adults to leave their children with us unless they have additional needs and require extra help and support. All our staff and volunteers are checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and our adult to child ratio ensures sufficient support throughout the workshop.
For further information about dropping off and picking up your children please refer to specific workshop pages where you can download an information pack.
While we do our best to include all the activities mentioned in the descriptions, some activities may vary on the day. We recommend warm, practical clothing and sensible footwear for all the workshops.
SPECIAL OFFER: Please note that the cost of the workshop is for the workshop only. If you would like to visit the Centre either after or before the workshop then you will have to purchase an entrance ticket. However, we are offering a special discounted rate of just £6 pp if admission to the Centre is purchased at the time of pre-booking a workshop (not including twilight workshops). This special offer admission applies to any adults who are dropping off children booked onto a workshop and who wish to stay in the Centre and any children within the same group that are not attending the workshop but wish to stay in the Centre (up to a reasonable limit).
FOR EXAMPLE: if the booking is for 1 child attending a workshop and staying in the Centre after the workshop, 1 child not attending the workshop and 1 adult, then you pay:
£12.75 for the workshop + £6 to stay in the Centre after the workshop = £18.75.
£6 for the adult
£6 for the extra child not attending the workshop
This discount only applies if pre-booked AT THE SAME TIME AS BOOKING THE WORKSHOP.
PLEASE NOTE: The special offer does not apply to twilight workshops
We do expect good behaviour on all of our workshops. This will not only enhance your child's enjoyment, it will ensure that the workshop is not disrupted and all the other children will be able to enjoy the experience too. With this in mind we ask you to fill in a code of conduct. You can download this when making a booking on-line (an information pack can be found on the individual workshop pages) and bring it with you or fill one in when you register in your child/children before the workshop starts. For bookings taken over the phone an information pack will be sent via email. The information pack also includes notes for dropping off/picking up etc.
Booking is essential for all workshops.
