5 December 2025: Come and join us as we celebrate the joyous festive season with Santa and festive music plus viewing the stars (weather permitting).

We are very excited to introduce our “Seasonal Celebration by Starlight” event here at the OSC.
Come join us for our festive family event.
Explore our fully interactive exhibits and enjoy a bite to eat from our cafe Christmas menu. Why not try one of our Camembert & cranberry toasties followed by a glass of our delicious spicy mulled wine and a mince pie.
Come and meet Santa and his elf and take selfies.
This will be followed by a dance along to Christmas songs sung by our special guest star Mary Grace.
During this time, if weather is clear, there will be an opportunity to look through one of our historic telescopes.
A festive experience for all to enjoy!

Itinerary:
4.30pm Gates open and telescope domes open for stargazing (weather permitting) or chats with the astronomers in the telescope domes (if the weather isn't suitable for viewing).
5.00pm-6.30pm Selfie with Santa in the Geodesic Dome
6.30pm -7.30pm Solo artist singer Mary Grace
8.30pm Gates close
You are free to explore the indoor exhibits and shop throughout the evening. The cafe will be open for drinks, snacks, mulled wine and mince pies.
