As an historic site, access is possible to most, but not all areas. Our toilet facilities now include hoist and height adjustable bed; please contact us for information.
Access to the hands-on exhibits indoors and out (weather permitting).
Opportunity to visit our exhibition 'Domes of Discovery- the story of The Royal Observatory' which brings to life the 300 year history of one of the most famous scientific institutions in the world.
Groups and societies with a particular affiliation to astronomy or engineering may like to book an extended private tour which will include the domes not normally open to the public. This costs £1.50 pp, minimum charge £30
Optional private Telescope Tour, Science Show or Workshop (small additional charge).
We operate our own Cafe and catering unit 'The Launch Box': every booking helps to support our charity.
Catering options can be discussed from morning coffee & bacon rolls, to buffet lunches, gourmet burger & fries, and traditional home made cream teas and cakes.
We have a choice of marquee etc usually available for private groups which can be as formal / informal as you wish.
There is also plenty of picnic spaces around the site.
Group organisers are welcome to a complimentary visit to site to check the facilities and discuss arrangements etc. but please call us in advance. If you cannot pre-book a complimentary visit we will do our best to answer your questions.
There is ample FREE parking for coaches, minibuses & cars.
We have a dedicated team of employees and volunteers who will lead your booked workshops / tours etc. All have a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Certificate and many are registered STEM Ambassadors.
This is a NON-SMOKING site, which includes e-cigarettes.
CCTV is operating throughout the site.
