What's On

Find out what's on at the Observatory Science Centre for 2019. We're offering a packed programme, with some new things on offer this year!

Celebration Sundays

It is the 25th anniversary of The Observatory Science Centre in 2020 and we are celebrating throughout the year. Celebration Sundays will be held on the first Sunday of every month from February to November (with the exception of September). There will be different themes and activities each month but we will be showcasing just how much fun science actually is.

Introduction to Life in the Universe

£25.00 per Adult

11th July 2020: This one day course is suitable for adults with a basic understanding of astronomy. Is there life beyond Earth? Over 4,000 exoplanets have been confirmed so far but what does it take for them to harbour life? What should we be looking for? Come and find out about the fascinating world of astrobiology.

Coronavirus COVID-19 Visitor Information

It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of The Observatory Science Centre from 18th March 2020 until further notice.

This decision was made in the light of the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and recent UK government advice, which our charity has been carefully monitoring and following.

The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our absolute priority during this difficult time.

Given the uncertainty we are all facing, we don’t yet know when we will re-open. If you have booked group visits / upcoming events etc. we will be in contact when we return to work.

We sincerely wish good health for you and your families during these uncertain times and we can’t wait to welcome you back as we continue our 25th anniversary celebrations.
