School and Group Visits
With over 100 interactive exhibits, plus educational sessions and groundbreaking scientific history all in one location, the Observatory Science Centre and Museum is the perfect place for learning and discovery!

“The whole visit was a fantastic experience. We had a brilliant day and have already recommended a visit to colleagues in other schools. Thank you!”
A truly unique science learning destination.
Set within the historic domes of the former Royal Observatory and surrounded by beautiful Sussex countryside, our secure site offers an inspirational setting for exploring science and astronomy in a real-life context.
School and group visits include plenty of time exploring our indoor ‘hands-on’ science galleries and our outdoor Discovery Park and Water Planet areas. Choose from a range of educational sessions to complement your visit.
We are open for school and group visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during East Sussex term-time. We are closed on Mondays.
Please use the form on this page to make a booking enquiry for the Summer term.
We are currently redeveloping the way we run our school and group visits. For visits taking place from September 2026 onwards, please sign up for our newsletter to be notified when our new booking system opens.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
