About us

The Observatory Science Centre and Museum is part of Science Projects. A charity dedicated to the promotion of science for everyone. As well as operating the Observatory Science Centre and Museum at Herstmonceux, we also have a design build studio in Hampshire where we make interactive science exhibits for science museums all over the world.

As a charity, all our profit is invested in our science education work with communities and schools as well as looking after the historic observatory site and telescopes at Herstmonceux.  We believe that science should be as fun and easy to talk about as Taylor Swift or the football.

The Observatory Science Centre and Museum is an interactive science centre which has been operating in the former home of The Royal Greenwich Observatory since 1995. Since opening, this unique attraction has gone from strength to strength and now offers spectacular science amongst the domes and telescopes of a world famous observatory.
