Children's Workshops

Bringing Science and Creativity to Life!

Holiday fun for children aged 6-8 years and 9-11 years. In addition to our daily activities, during the local school holidays we also offer fantastic workshops for children which are a great way to have fun and learn at the same time. They are fully interactive; children are totally immersed in carrying out experiments or making and creating (depending on the type of workshop). Many of the workshops involve an element of 'Make and Take' projects when the children are able to take what they have made home.

Specific workshops are aimed at age groups 6-8 years and 9-11 years. Please check the intended age group of your chosen workshop because we cannot accept children who are younger than the intended age.

For further information about dropping off and picking up your children please see Notes for Parents and Guardians.

Our 2017 list of workshops is being confirmed so please keep you eye on the website for further updates

While we do our best to include all the activities mentioned in the descriptions, some activities may vary on the day. We recommend warm, practical clothing and sensible footwear for all the workshops.

The dates, times and the cost of each workshop will appear in the details below the descriptions.

SPECIAL OFFER:  Please note that the cost of the workshop is for the workshop only. If you would like to visit the Centre either after or before the workshop then you will have to purchase an entrance ticket. However, for 2017 we are offering a special discounted rate of just £5 pp if admission to the Centre is purchased at the time of pre-booking a workshop. This special offer admission applies to any adults who are dropping off children booked onto a workshop and who wish to stay in the Centre and any children within the same group that are not attending the workshop but wish to stay in the Centre (up to a reasonable limit).

FOR EXAMPLE: if the booking is for 1 child attending a workshop and staying in the Centre after the workshop, 1 adult and 1 child not attending the workshop then you pay:
  • £11.25 for the workshop + £5 to stay in the Centre after the workshop = £16.25.
  • £5 for the adult
  • £5 for the extra child not attending the workshop

This discount only applies if pre-booked AT THE SAME TIME AS BOOKING THE WORKSHOP.

PLEASE NOTE: The special offer does not apply to twilight workshops

Booking is essential for all workshops
