Volunteers

As an educational charity many of the events would not run as successfully without our volunteers who have become part of all aspects of life at the centre and to whom we are very grateful. If you would like to become a volunteer we want to hear from you!  You can become involved with many things ranging from children's activities to general maintenance and keeping the Centre tidy.

Working parties are held on one evening a month from April to August when our volunteers paint, clean, sweep and prune to name but a few tasks. The majority of the work is outdoors but we always have wet weather tasks too!

You can also become involved working with children during school holidays. We always need help with our drop-in activities and full or half day workshops which cover a vast range of fascinating topics and are above all great fun.

If you have an interest in astronomy, volunteer to help out with our evening activities and our astronomy festival or even conduct telescope tours (all necessary training will be given).

Please note:  We request that all our volunteers are CRB checked (all information about registering for a CRB check will be given upon successful application to become a volunteer).

If you would like to become a volunteer and a valuable part of our very friendly team please apply by sending an email to Sandra Voss at the address below, with a brief CV and some indication of your interests.
