"We did enjoy the visit to Herstmonceux; the staff welcomed us to the site and we were lucky enough to experience the thrill of the night sky so wonderfully full of stars."
"What a memorable evening we had at the observatory. The weather was perfect and we had stunning views. The 2 people involved were brilliant and made it a successful and enjoyable occasion."

Tuesday 7th August 2012 - 11:13 The best!
The best! Thanks to you and your team for a fantastic day, when we asked the cubs about their favourite camp activities most of them rated the Observatory trip as the best - and you were up against another spectacular night at ........ (another venue) as well!
You went out of your way to make the day special for us, thanks very much.

Sunday 8th July 2012 - 11:26 Studying physics- staff make a difference
I thought you might like to know, we were looking through our old photos, and found some of our son's birthday party at the Observatory Science Centre in March 2001. It must have worked, as our son has just completed his first year at Glasgow University sudying Physics with Astronomy, and his best friend at the party has just finished his first year at Oxford studying Physics.

I hope that inspires your staff to know that they make a difference

Sunday 3rd June 2012 - 07:50 Thank you once again!
Thank you for yet another fantastic day out at the Observatory. My two sons aged 7 and 5 love coming and discovering more fascinating things about the scientific world in which we live. We are already looking forward to our next visit in September. We have recommended many friends, who always give us extremely positive feedback.

Wednesday 28th March 2012 - 16:30 Absolutely magic
Just to say many thanks for a brilliant visit to the science centre during our recent visit to Hastings. Absolutely magic. Also the radio amateur station on the grounds made my wife and myself very welcome. Good work, and a great day out

Thursday 1st March 2012 - 11:18 The best present!
Can I say a really big thank you for looking after us on Saturday night. We were a group of 8 and we were looked after perfectly. The young lady with the food was a real gem and did everything she could to look after us. It was Val's (my wife) birthday and she stands in the garden for hours on end looking through her telescope at the universe ! It was the best present she could have had with the help of you guys who made it extra special.

Tuesday 1st November 2011 - 11:19 Bexhill scout group Twilight Visit
The feedback from the children and adults alike was what a fantastic time we had with you up at the Observatory. What made the night was the clear skies, the view of Jupiter was fantastic, as well as such a patient team who looked after us so well. Please thank them all for us, see you again soon!

Thursday 1st September 2011 - 11:21 Private evening Birthday party
We would like to say thank you SO MUCH for making our visit so special. Somehow the clouds parted and we were able to tick all the boxes of what we were hoping to see. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. it was exactly what I was hoping for when trying to find the perfect birthday present. We hope The Centre goes from strength to strength and we expect to be back!

Saturday 20th August 2011 - 11:24 Rocketry Workshop 9th August
Thank you for my lovely rocketry lesson. I really enjoyed it and looking around the other exhibits, but my favourite part of the day was firing the rockets.

Friday 12th August 2011 - 11:23 Birthday Party
Scott and all his friends, adults included had a great time. The children loved the telescope talk and making the aeroplanes. Staff were very helpful from beginning to end. Many thanks - Scott had a lovely birthday.

Monday 1st August 2011 - 11:22 A hidden treasure
My family had the great pleasure of visiting whilst on holiday. I felt I should write to thank you for a wonderful day. The presentation of the chemistry show and the talk about the telescopes were both interesting and stimulating. We have visited many museums in our lifetime but this was by far the most engrossing. Its appeal to people of all ages is a great credit to the staff. A hidden treasure like The Centre deserves a greater profile.

Friday 1st July 2011 - 11:36 Will recommend to all our friends!
We visited you today and had the best day out in a long time. Both we and the kids enjoyed all of the interactive exhibits and the excellent tour and talk of the observatory. It's a lovely place and amazing that we have been to Hastings 2 years running but not been to you before. Will recommend to all our friends!

Friday 20th May 2011 - 11:27 Thanks to all the people
Just wanted to let you know that despite the clouds not playing ball, we still had a really good time and enjoyed our visit. It was our first, but will certainly not be the last time we come.
Thanks to all the people who took the time to explain the history of the various 'scopes.

Saturday 30th April 2011 - 11:28 Wow, what a great day out
Wow, what a great day out. There was so much to do, and very good value for money. I asked our 11 year old son if he had learnt anything - he said "Yes, science is more fun than I thought it was!" He was so inspired we bought cornflour to make goo and he is going to show some experiments at school in the run up to their Yr6 SATs!! We'll be back for an evening of star gazing soon.

Sunday 10th April 2011 - 11:29 What a great experience
We visited the observatory yesterday evening (9/4/11) with my 8 yr old grandson. What a great experience. Both adults and child really enjoyed themselves. How amazing to see Saturn so clearly through the telescopes, plus the moon, stars etc. The staff manning the large telescopes and the members of the Wealden Astronomical Society were all so knowledgeable and helpful, spending time answering our questions. Thank you for a fantastic evening, I didn't want to leave!

Wednesday 30th March 2011 - 11:33 The Centre is brilliant
I came along for my first ever visit last Saturday, together with my wife and our two sons, aged 8 and 6. We all think your Observatory Science Centre is brilliant! The boys especially loved all the hands-on interactive displays and experiments, both indoors and out. The telescopes are amazing, we are sorry we missed the guided tours but will be back to catch one next time. And we'd love to come at night time too so we can see through the lens.

Tuesday 10th August 2010 - 11:35 I would like to come back soon
Written by Mummy but dictated by Jack.......
I came to visit yesterday and I really liked it. My favourite was the big ball that rolls down the ramp and rings the bells. I would like to come back soon.

Tuesday 30th March 2010 - 11:31 Saturn won 'hands-down'
Just a note to thank you and your amazing army of volunteers for last night's event. Everyone was extremely complimentary about the information they had gleaned from the astronomers, and Saturn won hands-down on the 'best thing you saw' question.

Sunday 28th February 2010 - 11:38 Engrossed all day long
Really inspiring visit to the science park - much better than xxxx and much more imaginative on many levels. We had our 8 and 6 year old with us and they were engrossed all day long with the eldest claiming it was the best family day out ever! The exhibits are imaginative, informative and really accessible for both children and adults. We took them to the workshop on Forces which was really well done, both amusing and inclusive as well as very educational. I was worried that the observatory tour would be too adult for them but they were enthralled with it all. Thank you and well done - will definitely recommend to anyone that will listen!

A 5 year old was completely enthralled - and two 65 year olds! There's something for everybody here.

Tuesday 1st September 2009 - 11:16 Inspired by exhibits
Although I am someone who has always had an interest in many aspects of science it was great to relearn and to get a hands-on experience of things I had only seen in theory. My 2 children were inspired by the exhibits. We thought we might get a couple of hours amusement from the day, but stayed 4 1/2 hours. I will certainly be commending you to friends and family
