The following is an indication of the specific Activity Badges we can help your group with when they visit the centre. We take our guidelines for these badge requirements from the scouting web sites and some of the badges require necessary pre / follow up activity from your group meetings.
If you have ideas of your own about science based workshops which would help your group, please discuss them with us and we may be able to incorporate them into our future programme.
We would also like to help other uniformed (non-scouting) groups if they have Activity Badges in similar areas.
The cost is just £1 pp per badge in addition to the entrance fee.
Worksheets may be issued for use at the centre to help with the badge work, and Astronomy related Activity Badges will also include a visit into 1 of our telescope domes. The Observatory Science Centre will present a Certificate of Achievement to each child at the end of your visit.
Don’t forget that we also offer outreach to all community groups with our popular science shows and ScienceWorks hands-on exhibits.
Why not arrange a fun day out and use the experience towards the Discovery or Outdoor Challenge which carries no additional charge.
