We are continuously expanding and developing new shows to offer schools. In 2007 we were awarded a grant by Ecsite-uk, in association with The Science Museum London and Techniquest Wales. This project was to develop an outreach model, and has created a new show called Science Explorers. We hope to inspire children through a number of fun, exciting and informative shows, to have a greater understanding and interest in science.

Everybody loves bubbles but who knows how and why bubbles form? The very
popular Bubble Show not only gives children the chance to see some of the
biggest bubbles in the world, it also introduces them to basic scientific
principles.
Topics covered include molecules and atoms, the colour of light and some of the
fundamental laws of physics that govern the whole universe.
Audience participation is the key here, and the finale of the show will
give someone the chance to see the world from inside a bubble wall!
This show uses detergent and glycerine mixed with water. We use rubber backed mats to prevent the solution leaking through onto the floor surface, but we cannot guarantee that this will not happen. This can usually be dried and cleaned off afterwards (by yourselves)
The Observatory Science Centre accepts NO responsibility for damage to floor surfaces
This show explores some of the different forces we experience here on Earth
using a number of unusual and interesting objects. What happens when you throw a
ball on wheels…? Will our rocket hit the ceiling…? Will gravity cause the china
to smash…?
Requires audience participation and helps to explain how some of the forces
actually
affect us and our surroundings.
The topics covered include; push/pull, friction and resistance, air pressure/air
resistance, and of course, gravity.
This show follows the adventures of two characters as they ‘travel around the world’ presenting experiments covering the three main themes of; Predicting, Fair Testing and Graphs. It is presented in a game show format with two presenters, with the audience in two teams being given voting cards so they can predict the outcome of some of the experiments. There is plenty of explanation and scientific information covering the topics of; gravity, friction, mixing of two different chemicals, air resistance, air pressure, momentum, variables and healthy eating.
Originally designed as a revision tool for KS2 and enjoyed by children from ages 7-11, this show is dynamic, exciting and a lot of fun! Pre and Post Resources are also available for this show.
