To offer an outreach programme has been our aim in recent years whilst the centre has expanded and become established. When the time was right, a prerequisite was to have a small van to enable us to travel into the community. The purchase of a vehicle in 2005 was made possible with thanks to all of our visitors who contributed through the GiftAid scheme and to Willmoth’s Citroen in Eastbourne who supported us and agreed to our purchase of a van at cost price.
We are now able to take science shows and exhibits out to the community and directly into schools. This is an invaluable development for schools that face difficulties in taking pupils out of school and also for school seeking a focus for their science week etc.
Jane Ballamy has joined our team and has spent many years teaching and
performing around the country. She is now looking forward to bringing fun
science into schools.
