Aaaaahhhhh........on 1 May 2008 - 13 ducklings from our second resident duck!!

Many of our regular visitors will know that we are extremely proud of new arrivals - especially those of the feathered variety! (take a look at page 25 of our Events & Activities brochure).

Here are the first ducklings of the season, hatched on 27th April 2008 - all 15 of them and Mum is looking very pleased with herself.....

Have you seen our balloons?

 We held a weather workshop here on Saturday 15th March which was run by The Weather Front Ltd.   the 8 children who attended released helium balloons which all headed west

 So far 4 of the tags have been returned and have reached Ipswich, Reigate, Smallfield and Gravesend!!  Have you seen the others?

You will be  delighted to know that all access roads to the Observatory Science Centre have been re-opened as the East Sussex repairs to Wartling Road have now been completed

 

11 February How to find us

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 16TH – 24TH February 2008 East Sussex Highways are undertaking patching repairs to the Wartling Road during the above dates.  There will be diversion signs from the North, West and East but access to the science centre will be maintained at all times.

18 January 2008 The Observatory Science Centre has been awarded £1000 by the Institute of Physics (IoP) as part of their Public Engagement Grant Scheme. The money is funding a project, entitled Physics on the Beach. The Centre will be taking a stand to the hugely popular Eastbourne Airbourne air show where staff and volunteers will be engaging the public with fun science activities about flight
