Every group will normally participate in the Bridge Building Workshop which is a physical, fun activity. This is led by a member of science centre staff and usually lasts up to 30 minutes.
The cost of this activity is included in the basic admission price of £4.50 per pupil.
The pupils will be encouraged to work together as a team to construct and then test the bridge they have built. During this workshop it is essential that pupils listen to the team leader – the member of science centre staff.
Younger pupils will require some assistance from their supervising adults, whilst older pupils are encouraged to work together with minimum adult assistance.
The group may construct an Arch Bridge or a Truss Bridge and if time permits, then they may construct both. This activity takes place within our geodesic domes.
