Birthday Parties

Are you looking for an unusual venue for a birthday party- whatever the weather?

The Centre offers a venue for a party 48 weeks of the year.
The birthday party package lasts three hours and is recommended for children aged 6 – 12 years of age.
Please contact The Centre to discuss options if your child is outside of this age range; or even if you are considering a birthday party for adults.

• Access to the indoor interactive hands-on exhibits to keep children (and adults!) occupied.
• Access to the giant science equipment in the outdoor Discovery Park and Water Park (weather permitting).
• A visit to one of the telescope domes with a member of science centre staff for a short talk.
• A fun science based activity led by a member of science  centre staff.
• 'Vacuum-formed greeting' for the birthday child.
• Traditional birthday tea – all you need to bring is the birthday cake and candles!

£9.95 per child with a minimum booking for 8 children.
1 adult admitted free of charge per 4 children.

Additional adults and non party children are admitted at the reduced rate of just £6 pp.

To make a booking you can ring and give all details over the phone, or download, print and complete a Booking Form.

A £25 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a party.
Payment can be by cash, credit card or cheque (payable to 'Science Projects Ltd').

• We book a maximum of 2 parties per day; 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
• Party times are usually 10.30am - 1.30pm and 2pm - 5pm (summer) or 1.30pm - 4.30pm (winter)
• The Centre is the venue for your party - we do NOT supervise the children throughout and admit 1 adult free of charge per 4 children for this purpose.
• You will be required to sign a Birthday Party Code of Conduct ensuring that the adults accompanying the party will be responsible for the safe conduct of the children at ALL times.
• Children & adults should dress appropriately for the weather conditions if they wish to use the outdoor exhibits.
• A non-refundable deposit of £25 is required to secure the party.  The balance is due on the day and this deposit will be deducted from the final cost of your party.
• You will be charged for the minimum 8 children, even if less than 8 attend.
• Our catering cannot guarantee items to be free from nuts or any other ingredient but please ensure you make us aware of any special dietary requirements. If children are on a restricted diet it is best that they bring their own food. 
• We do NOT include sweets or balloons in the Party Bags.
